Question on pullups logging

SirHoot

When doing a pull-ups, how do all you guys log it?
Example:
If my weight is 190, do i log it like this -> 10/190,8/190.....
Or like this -> 10,8.....

basically do i use my body weight or do i just log the reps? I have been logging just the reps..

What do you all think.

No expert but I log body weight for pull-ups. My reasoning is I can do 10 at body weight but 30 on a machine that lightens your weight. Your probably pulling more than zero pounds. But either way whatever formula you pick stick with it because the test of increased strength will either be more reps or adding weight to the pull-up.

Your right, the weight is not zero. I think that you are pulling all your body weight during the exercise. I could pull out the physics books i have, but i trust this is right. I guess i will use the reps. Any time i use the pull up machine i will log it as such.
Thanks for the reply.

The real reason for me using body weight is after doing 50 chin-ups, 5 at a time that is, I like my score to look a little better than ZERO. Push-ups are tough also. I usually go with 50% of my body weight when adding those up.

I also use body weight: 8/206, 7/206 etc.

As the other poster said, it feels like way more than 0 when I do them, so I'm gonna give myself credit for pulling up my weight. :-D

I think after reading all the post i will start recording pull ups with body weight. I'm down from 204 to 191 so i wish (from a total amount lifted) point of view i started this before. Can always go back. Thanks for the post.
